Business houses have been constantly battling for profits over cost to environment and society and often the environment and society lose in this conflict. Once the importance of sustainable development was realized, it became imperative that businesses must contribute to the sustainable development of the economies to integrate itself with the society and environment, thus creating ‘blended value.’ Over time investors have become more aware of the power they hold over businesses as investors and have started to refrain from investing in businesses or activities with socially and environmentally negative effects. This has led to socially responsible investment and created the concept of impact investment. Entrepreneurship development in emerging economies is need of the hour and first crowdfunding and now impact investing is paving the way for entrepreneurs to secure venture financing in non-traditional ways and aligning their businesses with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The paper will further draw a comparison between impact investment and crowd funding as a source of entrepreneurial finance (since crowdfunding also works on projects and ventures of social impact) while discussing the pros and cons of selecting either of the funding modes and which types of projects are best suited for crowdfunding and impact investing.
Malobika Bose*, Dr Sheeba Khalid & Dr Naela Jamal Rushdi Copyright (c) 2023 http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1505 Sat, 13 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Strategies for Improving Efficiency and Protecting the Environment with Water Resource Management http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1510
Globally, water resources are a major concern. The valuable water resources of Liberia, which are crucial to the ecosystem of the nation, are under severe threat as a result of both the availability and use of water, rapid urbanization, industrialization, population growth, and low environmental awareness. Monitoring and evaluating these resources is urgently required since they provide crucial data for managing water resources and making sustainable decisions. The rising urbanization of Liberia has resulted in a widening urban-urban gap. The idea that metropolitan areas in Africa are always advantageous was called into doubt. The goal of the paper is to highlight water resource management strategies for increasing effectiveness and preserving the environment. The study's objective was accomplished by comparing water efficiency by examining strategies for improvement of water efficiency and protecting the environment water resource management.
Prof. Dr. Gözen ELKIRAN, Fidan ASLANOVA, John Kepo KPEWOAN II Copyright (c) 2023 http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1510 Tue, 23 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 A Review of the Detrimental Impacts of Pollution on Our Natural Environment http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1511
Environmental pollution is a serious global issue that demands the same level of attention that climate change is currently receiving. Pollution is defined as the introduction into the environment of substances harmful to humans and other living organisms. Pollutants are harmful solids, liquids, or gases produced in higher than usual concentrations that reduce the quality of our environment. Air pollution is caused by the burning of coal to provide electricity. Sewage and trash from homes and businesses can contaminate both land and water. Pesticides have an effect on animals because they poison vegetation and insects and then seep into water sources. Many attempts have been made to reduce pollution, but it still poses a significant threat to human health and in most instances traditional sources of pollution, such as industrial emissions, lackluster sanitary infrastructure, ineffective waste management, polluted water supplies, and indoor air pollution from biomass fuels, are arguably more severe in less industrialized and developing nations.

Human-caused Pollutants in the environment, such as the burning of fossil fuels, have altered global weather patterns and accelerated the onset of climate change. As a direct result of this occurrence, there has been a worldwide increase in efforts to reduce environmental contamination. There has been a lot of study on how pollution in the environment impacts our natural ecology. In this review, we draw on the findings of other academic studies that have examined the problem of environmental pollution at various scales and therefore we aimed at doing an overview of the disastrous consequences pollution generated by people is having on our natural environment, with a specific focus on air pollution.
Momoh Ndorbor MASON JR*, Fidan ASLANOVA & Gözen ELKIRAN Copyright (c) 2023 http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1511 Tue, 23 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Research on personal data security: Personal Gmail use case and its concerns regarding data breaches http://gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1512
In today's digital age, personal data security has become a critical concern for individuals, particularly when it comes to the use of email services. The key to the success of the plan is the fractionation of the stormwater into components of markedly different quality, as well as the separate treatment of household and industrial wastewater for various end-uses. Both of these steps are necessary to ensure the programme is a success. To a significant extent, the approach for extracting groundwater is determined by the quality standards that must be met. In order to have a improved empathetic of the impacts of backwater and sewer water excellence on therapeutics recital, ecological concerns, and resource consummation, extensive studies grounded on geometric facts gathered from 3,340 borough wastewater action facilities in China were carried out. As a consequence of this, there is a particular alleviation from the engagement of supply and demand for water resources, and large gains in the economic efficiency of the local economy have been simulated using numerical results.
